Allison immediately intrigued me with her life story when she contacted me for a lifestyle portrait photoshoot in Cape Town.

She is a traveller, photographer and creator herself. She has a very successful blog and a YouTube channel.

When I asked her how she got into this business/lifestyle, she told me that she spent her childhood snapping away on point-and-shoot cameras. She was also making goofy videos with friends. Hence, when she stumbled across the YouTube platform during a summer in college, she simply was not able to resist creating a channel of her own.

She found herself spending all of her spare time creating videos. After a few years of struggling to choose her direction in school, she decided to follow her passions and study broadcasting.

By the time she finished her degree, her YouTube channel had grown tremendously and writing a blog had started to be very popular. Even though the safe choice for her would have been to apply for “normal” broadcasting positions, she decided to go her own way as an online creator and never looked back.
